My apologies to my groupmates: ayaw gumana ng usb ng mga voice over natin kaya ako na nagvoiceover. Nacorrupt yung pagtawid natin sa Ilog Pasig at yung pagakyat sa hagdan. Sorry ulit. Godbless!

I just saw your video and it was my first time to see the "insides" of a tenement housing project. It was an eye-opener for me.

One important lesson I got is that it is never enough to just "construct" a building where people can live in. We always have to consider sustainability (in all aspects).

By the way, what's going to happen after the building exceeds its design life? Will it be demolished or renovated?

One funny comment: the old lady you interviewed (was she an official there?) was sooo PROACTIVE.

thanks for the comment ma'm! ;p
--------------------------------

3 things about other folks i know who live in tenement:
(1) the old people know the life expectancy of the building, however, they cannot act since
(2) the young people who heard the news from the folks hold it as negligible - the building is still strong anyway
(3) most people couldn't care less.

--------------------------------

with election time, as with the first part, the only thing officials do is to repaint and repaint the building's visible sides.

i have yet to hear news about official's plans and actions about the expected life of the building.

------------------------------

one of the ironies of the tenement is that when you stroll around the place you'll see that there are so many nice cars, so many people with cable connections and personal computers (which are far better than the average Filipino's lifestlye).

the other tenements, i heard, are far better than the one presented here.
