asignatura: reaksyong papel

Around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, it was I think August or September of this year, it was raining very hard, but then again there's no something new about this, its rainy season anyway. me and some of my dormers in Sampaguita where chatting in front of the counter of our dormitory, indeed a very ordinary day we thought. until additional sound effect catches our attention, as if small stones were pouring in our roof with the rain, so out of curiosity we check outside and there we saw little pieces of hard ice is actually pouring with the rain, it touches the ground then melt. this is unordinay, i believe. it is not everyday here in the Philippines that we see "snow", but giving it a serious thought, this is not something that we could be amaze of, but rather must spark an alarm for every one. what is really happening to our environment? in addition to this, "signs" of nature, in our country alone is the increasing number of typhoon visiting us, typhoon that moves unpredictably causing a lot of accidents, or as simple as the "abnormality" in our climate, one moment the sun is shining really hot, in a few moment rain will pour really hard without warning, also nights are also becoming colder not just because it is ber month, and a lot more. this signs that we observe are just in our country, what more if we look at a wordly scope. wildfire, tsunami, extinction and others and most of all the global warming. indeed very alarming, but after being alarm, whats next?


After being alarm, realization start to sink in... especially after watching "the inconvenient truth", "signos" (maybe a little, ehe) and after taking the quiz on www.myfootprint.org. "its just a little piece of trash, how can it ruin the whole world, are you kidding?" quoted from some careless people that do actually exist, and their not extinct, mind you their population is actually growing. every little pieces of trash that we threw in our environment no matter how little they may seem do actually have a great contribution in destroying the earth, and every little trash that we save in the same way have a great contribution in saving the world. who am talking about this, if i myself is guilty of my contribution to whats happenning to the environment. here are some of the evidences that i am 100% guilty: i do not often practice recycling things, i sometimes buy things even if the old ones can still do, i produce a lot of garbages, i do not know how is the proper waste management, i never practice compost, i sometimes burn garbage in the backyard, i support products that im not sure if they are organically produce (in most cases, the are not), well this is quite tiring, because there are more lot to mention, without further elaborating, its obvious, i am Guilty. and so, realizing that i am guilty, will i be punish for this?

Alarm, realization, hopefully next is for me to ACT, because there is actually a lot of things that i can do to somehow make up for all the guilt thing that i have done. recycling, as a student there a lot of paper that i consume, by just photocopying readings, but after the sem what will i do to them, the next sem i have to photocopy, i can bring them and use the other page instead in photocopying, i just not practice recycling, i was also able to help manang xerox to save paper. buying a small water container that i can bring anywhere, so that i dont have to buy bottled water outside, i only not reduce trash but i also save money, planting in the backyard such as vegetable and fruits or even tree (can i plant apple tree?i wish), save money and clean the air. whenever buying goods, try to make sure that the manufacturer has a commitment in the environment in saving it, as a civil engineering student, with all the knowkedge that i am acquiring especially about the environment, i may not just let them pass me by i may use them in good practice, or i may share them to my friends, family and others so that they may be also aware and alarm. a lot of things that i can actually do, in reality if ill practice such lifestyle, i not only help save the environment in my little way, i also benefit a lot from doing so. this is just me, what more if YOU also join me.
